We are finishing an intense and a rich season of 2016/201, which we bagan in Maribor with our production Calypso, with which we have and will be touring at home and abroad in the next season. October was the month of our traditional International Festival of Contemporary Arts – City of Women, which underlined issues of precarity and vulnerability and brought to Ljubljana artistic works from all over the world. First months of this year were dedicated to feminist pedagogy program which addressed high schools and some faculty departments. On the International Women's Day we enjoyed in the company of Simona Semenič. In addition we continued with Audience Councils and our work on future Study room, which will include library and archive, enabling public access to extremely reach collection of documentation from the fields of contemporary arts and women studies.
With the new season 2017/2018 City of Women will begin a workplace training program, launch a two-year European project, continue and upgrade regional collaborations and networking of related organizations and for the 23rd year in a row organize an International Festival, for which we received an exceptional recognition.
A vivid autumn 2017 ahead of us, which will, in remembrance of the 100th Anniversary of the October Revolution, marked with redefining norms and non-conforming to the ideas that conservative and nationalistic ideologies promote as natural.
23rd International Festival of Contemporary Arts – City of Women, which will take place in Ljubljana between October 6th and 14th on more than ten various venues and in public space, will offer excellent and eye-opening artistic creations that address peering issues; artists will talk about abortion, legally unrecognised and non-normative families, biology, feminism and tactics of performing gender. In addition to exhibitions and performances, the program will offer also workshops, talks and conference, social gatherings will round up with musical events and one-time film projections that will also open minds of our youngest audiences.
For those of you, who wish to experience the festival to it's fullest, we will also offer a Festival Pass at a very friendly price.

If you're already spending your holidays in Ljubljana, you are welcome to a hybrid performance by Maja Smrekar. A co-production between Ljubljana Puppet Theatre and Aksioma, which premiered at our last festival edition.
