XXII. International Festival of Contemporary Arts – City of Women
Dear all, October is near!
With great pleasure we announce pre-festival event where we will present the programme of this year's 22nd Festival edition.
Instead of classic press conference, we are preparing a picnic, organized in collaboration with working group for inclusion of immigrant women in the community, Social Center Rog and women migrant kitchen. We will create festival badges, co-create festival mobile installation of ČIPke collective, eat some nice food and present the festival’s contents. Children are welcome to join, MG+MSUM is preparing a creative workshop for them as well!
We will welcome you in Rog on September 27th from 5 pm onwards!*
Here we share some names that will mark October in Ljubljana:
Simone Aughterlony, Rosana Cade, Marcia Farquhar, Tania El Khoury, Ria Hartley, Dina Rončević, artists from the FyraBen collective and others. Slovenian artists Kaja Lorenci, Maja Smrekar, Olja Grubić & Živa Petrič will premiere their works at the festival. Film programme will offer unique encounters with late director Chantal Akerman; we will also host her yearlong collaborator Claire Atherton. Even before the British premiere we will screen Terence Davies’ A Quiet Passion, a subtle homage to American poet Emily Dickinson. Performances, installations and projections will interweave with several talks, lectures, workshops and gatherings.
