BURNOUT AID
international european project
City of Women in a partner in a new European project BurnOu Aid, that draws attention to the growing problem of work burnout. Last year, the World Health Organization classified burnout syndrome as a syndrome linked to long-term, unresolved and stressful work. More and more people are facing the effects of work related burnout. The rise of burnout syndrome in society is, above all, a symptom of a neo-liberal all-embracing ideology, that exhausts women and men, deprives workers rights, creates precarious working conditions, and often puts individuals in existential distress.
Workers in NGOs are particularly at risk of experiencing burnout. Due to the lack of government action in these areas, workers in NGOs often experience psychological and physical overload by the amount and type of work.
The BurnOut Aid project aims to raise awareness of burnout syndrome in the non-governmental sector and prevent its causes.
Project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission and will run from 1st of September 2019 to 30th of April 2022.
