The workshop will be focused on everyday mannerisms and tasks. The research is aimed at the investigation of own body and an attempt to push the participants to limits that allow an experience of the body beyond its representations.

Maria Hassabi is a New York-based director/choreographer/performer. Over the past decade, she has created eight evening-long works and eight short- form pieces. Her works have been presented across the USA and at numerous European festivals. Throughout her career, she has had ongoing collaborations with artists from various disciplines, performing and creating works for theater, art galleries, museums and film. Maria Hassabi is a recipient of the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, 2009 Grants to Artists Award, a 2011 Guggenheim Fellow and a 2012, recipient of The President’s Award for Performing Arts from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.
