Triptych: Initiation
This performance is an intimate story told in the first person singular, seeking to present a lifetime from behind as well as ahead. Living in harmony with age was possible whilst young, but now, out of my youth, it is even more possible. Well, it takes some of one's own initiation to guarantee success. In the performance, I use little chickens as a visual moment to demonstrate my readiness for new initiation. Life didn't stop; it just requires a new direction. Hundreds of tiny chicken feet walking on my body lying prone should determine a new direction. Chicken feet have three toes - which represent a junction, and mantric traces of chicken feet will leave innumerable paths on my body that I will canalise into one unique path. The poetic gesture of chicken feet on my body will be reflected in my mind (using an actor's interpretation) that will be heard through an announcement the moment I raise my body and leave the chicken polygon. This will be a moment of decision for new initiation. (Vlasta Delimar)
