Still Life With Wife

An intimate portrait of husband and wife Titov, an Estonian couple married for over twenty years who, despite constant quarrelling, still stick together. His wife's sarcasm in a way inspires him to paint whilst she, despite all his “imperfections”, admires his persistence in painting, although his status as a self-taught painter doesn’t allow him to either exhibit or sell his works. Partners discovered an ideal recipe for their relatively tranquil co-existence: she lives in the apartment whilst he lives in a dacha where he paints. They only meet on a few occasions but when they do they start fighting immediately… (Simon Popek)
